MARQUIS NORTH END REHABILITATION AND HEALTHCARE CENTER - BOSTON, NJ

 

RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (PART-TIME; 24 HRS WEEKLY)

 

The North End Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a qualified, Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory care services such as the administration of oxygen, therapeutic gas and mist inhalation in accordance with physician's orders, and ensure the proper management of all therapeutic and diagnostics. Will also handle ventilator care, tracheotomy care, and all respiratory modalities to residents.  Requires knowledge of medications, treatments and their correct administration, based on age of patients and their clinical condition.

 

This is a PART TIME; 24 Hrs weekly position.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Current state licensure.
  • Minimum 3+ years  experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Experience with Trach Care and Ventilator Management in skilled nursing home, LTACH or hospital setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with residents and families.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide care to residents in accordance with Physicians Orders, Policy and Procedures, established facility protocols and standards of practice defined by the AARC (American Association for Respiratory Care) Clinical Practice Guidelines. 
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as ABG’s, and use treatments such as Chest Physiotherapy, oxygen mixtures and aerosol medications
  • Assess plans and evaluate respiratory care delivered to residents.
  • Assist nursing staff as needed off unit with assessments, clinical resource, education and emergent care. 
  • Document resident care accurately and completely in medical record. 
  • Maintain a positive, professional and helpful attitude towards residents, their family, visitors to the facility and co-workers. 
  • Make sound respiratory care judgments in compliance with respiratory protocols, policy and procedures. 
  • Attend patient transports as needed within the facility and outside of the facility if necessary.
