VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

 

Marquis Health Services is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to join our organization! 

 

The VP of Human Resources will be responsible for the strategic human resource planning to provide the organization with the best people talent available and to position the organization as the employer of choice by being aware of policies, practices and trends within the healthcare industry. This role reports to the CEO.

 

This role will be based out of Massachuetts and will require travel to facilities throughout the northeast, including but not limited to MA, MD, NJ PA and RI.

Qualifications

BS degree required; Masters preferred

Must have HR experience in the healthcare industry

Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

2 years Management/supervisory experience

5 years Long-term care management

Must be willing to travel; this position will be in the Massachusetts area, but will require occasional travel to RI, NJ, PA and MD

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization's human resource function and performance.
  • Focuses energy on creating programs that help differentiate the company’s workforce and put the company in a competitive position with current and prospective employees
  • Analyze trends at each facility to include turnover, hiring, promotions, separations, and grievances
  • Develops staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for positions of responsibility. Identifies appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the organization.
  • Continually assesses the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
  • Conduct necessary investigations on associate relation issues and serves as a consultant to operations management on appropriate resolutions
  • Enhances and/or develops, implements and enforces HR policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Continues improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization.
  •  Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct company programs and activities in conjunction with the company’s operational budget and state and federal regulations.
  • Develops progressive and proactive programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
  • Develops programs to allow the organization to embrace applicants and employees Establishes credibility throughout the organization; must be viewed as approachable and as a mentor to people in human resources issues.
  • Mitigate risk by ensuring appropriate escalation / investigation of performance, conduct and other employee relation related matters
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
